General Directorate "Combat against Organized Crime" officers and an FBI agent witnessed the destroying of the illegal carriers. During their visit in Smolian, they discussed with local students the risks in the Internet and the harms of drugs usage.

11.11.2010 - Officers from "Combat against Organized Crime" - Smolian destroyed more than 3000 illegal CDs. The carriers were previously seized during police raids against Intellectual Property crimes in the region. Chief Inspector Yavor Kolev, head of Sector “Cyber Crimes and Intellectual Property" and special agent Brian Herrick - head of the "Cyber Crime" unit at the FBI, Philadelphia witnessed the destroying. "Today we proved, that we fight against the intellectual piracy all over the country", said Chief Inspector Kolev.

During his visit in Smolian, Yavor Kolev met with students from the seventh grade of the "Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii" school. He informed them for the risks and the dangers in the Internet and asked them to be very cautious about what and with whom they share in the web.

Special agent Brian Herrick paid attention that the Internet, besides its good and useful aspects, also hides some risks.

The experts advised the children to not fear to share with their parents, teachers and the Police, if someone threatens or harasses them in the Internet. They also informed the children, that they can give warnings for internet crimes at www.cybercrime.bg and www.safenet.bg websites.
