The raid was conducted at “Slaveikov” Square. 3 men were arrested at the moment of delivery of pirate optical discs for customers.

Operative officers of CCGPOP (Counteraction of Crime, Guarding the Public Order and Prevention) seized over than 9 thousands pirate ODs during an operation at “Slaveikov” Square in Sofia. The raid was conducted by signal of BAMP. The optical carriers – CD- Rs and DVD- Rs with music, films and business-software – are seized from two places , used for storage of these materials – on “Han Krum”Str and “Stefan Karadja”Str. Four street-stands at “Slaveikov” Square have been supplied from these storage places, provided with catalogues of audio-visual products and software. On demand by a client, these products have been available in a couple of minutes. The price of the CD-Rs with music and film was between 8 - 25 leva, and the entertainment and business software – more than 30 leva, according to the Police officers.

In progress of the operation, U.B.(aged 25), T.S.(aged 21) and M.S. (aged 18)  were arrested at the moment of supply of the illegal materials. The mechanism of the infringement was as follow: T.S. acted like sailor, supplier and depositary at the same time. When an order has been made, T.S. went to the place of storage and delivered the requested products. U.B. and M.S. worked at the other storehouse  and supplied 3 street-stands with catalogues. When an order has occurred, the sailor from the street-stand communicated with the 2 other men by cell phone and they brought the materials.

The three men are arrested for 24 hours. Two preliminary investigations have been initiated under art.172 a of the Criminal Code.
