This is one of the series of actions realized by police officers against the illegal distribution of protected intellectual products. 8 servers with more than 7 terabytes (TB) of music, movies and software were seized.
04 November 2008 Following information by BAMP, officers of the Directorate “Conteraction to Organized and Serious Crimes” had a successful raid against the two of the biggest ISPs in the city of Yambol – “ComNet” (with managing director N.S.) and “OptiNet” (managing by V.R.). The two firms have supplied their subscribers with copyright infringing music, movies and software. The materials are placed at the Prosecutor’s office disposal. Officers of the District Directorate of Police in the city of Yambol and the Directorate “Conteraction to Organized and Serious Crimes” executed an operation under the control of Yambol Regional Court and seized from the ISPs 8 units of servers with more than 7 TB of illegal music, films and software. Preliminary investigation has been initiated under article 172a of the Bulgarian penal code. |
